Good News, Provo is Recycling!

It was about time that Provo made the switch to recycling and joined forces with other cities who are already making the effort to make this world a bit better!

Starting November 1st, the city of Provo will start managing and providing the recycling service to all Provo residents who will now have a weekly pick-up for recycled materials.

The process started over the summer, when the recycling containers that were owner and managed by Republic Services were replaced with the containers provided by the City of Provo. The new containers were scheduled to be delivered between August 1st and October 31st, so if you don't have yours yet, don't worry, it should arrive soon!

It is said by the City, that this change will save both residents and the city money. There will be a total of three trucks collecting the trash and recycling materials and the cost of curbside recycling service will be only $1 more for double the service.

Also, residents can dial 3-1-1 (or 801-852-6000) to get help instead of having to work through a third party. A friendly Provo City customer service representative can get you signed up and answer any of your recycling questions as well as address concerns.

Just know what the color of the lids mean, and you'll be recycling more effectively every week! Check out the fun infographic below to get a better idea of what's each color about!
